The third Advanced Training Course organized for the TreatRec project was held in Girona Spain on days between the 29th of November and the 1st of December 2016. This time around the topics concentrated on micro-contaminants, covering their detection, effect and fate in wastewater treatment.
On July 20th 2016 Sara Johansson, one of the Early Stage Researchers of the TreatRec gave a seminar titled "P-recovery through the crystallization route" at the University of Girona in Spain. Sara will transfer to Aquafin in Belgium next month for one year and a half and she will continue her research there.
The ATC2 organized by Aquafin successfully delivered a series of lectures, exercises and activities on the major topics in the wastewater industrial sector from 18th until 21st April 2016 in Antwerp, Belgium.
The coordinating institution of TreatRec, The Catalan Institute for Water Research (ICRA) has just received HR Excellence in Research award in February 2016, a distinction awarded by the European Commission, which recognizes the efforts of the research center in improving recruitment and researchers’ rights.
On September 22nd 2015 Yaroslav Verkh, one of the Early Stage Researchers of the TreatRec gave a seminar titled "Screening of microcontaminants in wastewater using HR-MS and statistical approach" on the objectives of his Individual Research Project, progress achieved since the appointment as ESR and his work plan for the next 6 months. Yaroslav will transfer to Atkins Limited in UK next month for one year and he will continue his research there.
The first TreatRec Advanced Training Courses took place at ICRA in Girona between the 15th and 17th of September 2015. In attendance were five Early Stage Researchers of the project as well as other PhD students of ICRA and the University of Girona.
